Local Preparedness Coordinator (DHSEM #10102901)

This position exists to support and strengthen emergency preparedness and resilience efforts across New Mexico by providing technical assistance, training, and strategic guidance to local governments, Tribal Nations, nonprofit organizations, and other community stakeholders. Local Preparedness Coordinators (LPCs) are responsible for documenting regional needs, supporting inclusive planning processes, and promoting continuous improvement aligned with federal and state guidelines. This position may assist the DHSEM Grants Bureau by helping local partners understand and meet programmatic requirements.

Salary

$23.07 – $36.91 Hourly
$47,989 – $76,782 Annually

IT Systems Administrator II (DHSEM #17951)

This position will provide specialized technical support, configuration, deployment, maintenance, upgrade, troubleshooting, disaster mitigation, and disaster recovery for desktop and peripheral systems, operations, LAN/WAN in the Department’s statewide enterprise environment. It will serve as the primary expert at the Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management on matters server/systems management, support services and applications. This position is the lead technologist for the agency and is accountable for all IT Systems management. This position is also IT support for our SFMO office located in Albuquerque and the Fire Training Academy in Socorro. Perform planning and analysis; agency/user coordination. Serve as Emergency Management team member in emergency response and recovery.

Salary

$34.05 – $54.48 Hourly

NM Firefighters Training Academy Instructor (DHSEM #4252+)

The Instructor/Coordinator will coordinate and instruct fire service-related programs for emergency responders from entry level to advanced officer level. This position implements course design, curriculum development, thorough understanding and compliance with relevant NFPA standards and administering certification testing in accordance with IFSAC and Pro Board criteria.

Grants Accountant & Auditor (DHSEM #17939)

The Grant Accountant and Auditor is responsible for grant draw downs, reconciliations, and closeouts for disaster and non- disaster grants awarded to our agency. This is done by gathering and compiling necessary data and information from various sources to ensure comprehensive and complete reports. Track and manage tracking logs with daily review of grant revenue and expenditures for DHSEM and FEMA compliance, to ensure accurate coding and reimbursement with grant requirements. Perform monthly reconciliations for each assigned grant and enter adjusting journal entries in SHARE, as needed. This position is required by the Department to draw federal operating funds to cover expenditure from different systems. Prepare and submit accurate and timely quarterly financial reports to FEMA for assigned grants. Collaborate with internal teams to gather relevant information and ensure compliance and deadlines are met for grant requirements.

Management Analyst II (DHSEM #4223)

This position plays a key role in supporting the State Fire Marshal’s Office by coordinating the distribution of funds to approximately 392 certified fire departments and 705 qualifying entities statewide. The role also provides vital financial and administrative support to the DHSEM/SFMO Finance Division and assists the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during activations.

$19.82 – $31.71 Hourly
$41,218 – $65,949 Annually
