Homeland Security Bureau

Overview

The Homeland Security Bureau (HSB) supports DHSEM and works to protect the people of New Mexico by providing the following services to our clients, both across the state and within the national intelligence community:

  • Operate and manage the state’s intelligence fusion center, the New Mexico All Source Intelligence Center
  • Coordinate with public parties, as well as federal, state, tribal, and local governments, to protect critical infrastructure and address cybersecurity threats
  • Collaborate with in-house U.S. Department of Homeland Security personnel to maintain constant situational awareness of both regional and national threats

Suspicious Activity Reporting

The Homeland Security Bureau serves as a focal point and direct entry point for reporting suspicious activity by agencies and citizens in our state. This includes entry into the FBI guardian system and coordination of reposes to developing threats, risks and vulnerabilities in our state.

Fusion Center

The State’s  intelligence fusion center is housed within the Homeland Security Bureau and serves as a focal point for federal, state, tribal and local public safety partners to share, analyze and to assist our partners in efforts to deter, detect and respond to threats, risks and vulnerabilities in our state. This includes terrorism, violent extremism, school threats, human trafficking, drug trafficking, arms trafficking, transnational crime at our border with Mexico, and high priority issues within our state such as violent fugitives, violent crimes and auto theft.
