Grants Management Analyst

The New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency (NMDHSEM) works to protect the people of New Mexico and the nation through a comprehensive and coordinated program of mitigating hazards, preparing for emergencies, preventing terrorist attacks, and recovering from disasters regardless of cause. The Grants Management Bureau within NMDSHEM manages tens of millions of federal grant dollars that are awarded to our state each year to help New Mexico’s communities build and sustain these programs locally.

Salary
$23.07 – $36.91 Hourly
$47,989 – $76,782 Annually

Grants Account Auditor

The Grant Accountant and Auditor  is responsible for grant draw downs, reconciliations, and closeouts for disaster and non- disaster grants awarded to our agency. This is done by gathering and compiling necessary data and information from various sources to ensure comprehensive and complete reports. Track and manage tracking logs with daily review of grant revenue and expenditures  for DHSEM and FEMA compliance, to ensure accurate coding and reimbursement with grant requirements. Perform monthly reconciliations for each assigned grant and enter adjusting journal entries in SHARE, as needed. This position is required by the Department to draw federal operating funds to cover expenditure from different systems. Prepare and submit accurate and timely quarterly financial reports to FEMA for assigned grants. Collaborate with internal teams to gather relevant information and ensure compliance and deadlines are met for grant requirements.

NMFTA Training Operations Manager

The Academy is dedicated to meeting the needs of a complex and dynamic fire service by providing programs of the highest quality. The New Mexico Firefighters Training Academy’s objectives and goals are:
(1) to provide training programs designed to develop the basic and advanced skills necessary for students to be more effective members of the fire service
(2) to provide the best instruction and training possible in all areas of the fire service
(3) to serve the public at large by providing education services, training, and counseling
(4) to provide a means allowing firefighters to demonstrate their ability to meet professional qualification standards.
Why does the job exist?

This position will provide the daily supervision of the New Mexico Firefighters Training Academy staff; determine course curriculum and accreditation; and ensure all courses meet the National Fire Protection Standards. This position will ensure that the New Mexico Firefighters Training Academy maintains its Internal Fire Service Congress Accreditation and Pro Board Accreditation.

NMFTA Statewide Instructor/Coordinator

Why does the job exist?

The Instructor/Coordinator will coordinate and instruct fire service-related programs for emergency responders from entry level to advanced officer level. This position implements course design, curriculum development, thorough understanding and compliance with relevant NFPA standards and administering certification testing in accordance with IFSAC and Pro Board criteria.
