Public comment period open for Disaster Recovery Grant
The state of New Mexico received a $137 million appropriation from Congress through the Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) fund which is administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
These funds are available to support community recovery in areas impacted by the DR-4795: South Fork Fire, Salt Fire, and Flooding, and DR-4843: New Mexico Severe Storm and Flooding. The state has developed an Action Plan for the disaster recovery grant and is asking the public for comment until May 4.
Residents are encouraged to submit input on the community’s recovery needs. They can learn more about this grant, submit comments, and view the public hearing schedule on our website. For ADA accommodations, please email publiccomment@dhsem.nm.gov.
