Fire and EMS personnel from across the state invited to training expo
SOCORRO — The New Mexico State Fire Marshal’s Office and the New Mexico EMT Association will bring firefighters, EMS personnel, and emergency responders together for advanced training, hands-on practice, and networking at the 12th annual New Mexico Fire & EMS Expo on October 8–12.
The expo will take place at the New Mexico Firefighters Training Academy and the Socorro Convention Center and will include 130 hours of training course options, a memorial ceremony to honor fallen firefighters, an awards ceremony, and more.
“This expo is a chance for our first responders to build real-world skills, forge connections, and elevate the fire and EMS expertise in New Mexico,” said State Fire Marshal Randy Varela. “Last year, we had over 300 responders registered, and we hope to see that number grow this year.”
The New Mexico Fire & EMS Expo has become a tradition of learning, collaboration and recognition for those who dedicate their lives to keeping New Mexicans safe. This year’s event is expected to draw hundreds of participants to Socorro, reinforcing the importance of statewide partnerships in emergency response.
