Local Preparedness

The Local Preparedness Program staff provide technical assistance for prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery mission areas while assessing progress towards each jurisdiction’s multi-year planning, training, and exercise goals.

The Local Preparedness Program staff facilitates quarterly area meetings, and coordinates with local Emergency Managers on reviews and updates of their Local Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), and help crosswalk it based on FEMA’s Comprehensive Preparedness Guide (CPG 101 version 3) requirements. Local jurisdiction EOP’s are reviewed utilizing this crosswalk prior to any reimbursement of grant funds.

Local Preparedness Program staff will continue to be involved in several planning and exercise initiatives and can serve as exercise evaluators, exercise controllers or exercise players in EOC exercises throughout the state.
